The Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure (MEI) proposes to extend the term of implementation of "Women in Business" Program to include the years 2020-2022, IPN reports.
Since the entry into force of the Program, in 2016, it has proven to be an effective tool for developing female entrepreneurship, the authors mention. Over 400 women were assisted in the process of starting a business through training and consulting. Of the women, 179 registered their business in the first six months after attending the training.
Under another component of the Program, "Support for Newly Started Businesses", companies registered in the course of two years and managed by women applied for and benefited from grants for the purchase of technology, equipment, and services for business development, up to 165 thousand lei per company. The total amount of the grants constitutes 39.58 million lei.
The amount needed to implement "Women in Business" Program by 2022, according to the MEI, is of 45 million lei, money provided by the Medium-Term Budget Framework (CBTM) for the years 2020-2022.
