Meeting of Filat and Shevchuk will facilitate dialogue between Chisinau and Tiraspol

The March 15 meeting of Prime Minister Vlad Filat and the Transnistrian leader Yevgeny Shevchuk was aimed at facilitating the discussion between Chisinau and Tiraspol during the break in the official talks, program director at the Foreign Policy Association Radu Vrabie stated for Info-Prim Neo. According to the expert, such meetings are more than welcome. “The informal negotiations are more personal in character and allow discussing problems and talking steps that cannot be discussed and taken during the official talks. This is more useful and efficient and contributes to creating an atmosphere of trust. I don’t think that they intended to hide these discussions,” said Radu Vrabie. Yevgeny Shevchuk came to Chisinau to see the concert of Lara Fabian in the evening of March 15. He stayed in the same box with Prime Minister Vlad Filat. After the concert, the two officials had a bilateral meeting. “Emphasis was laid on the promotion of projects that will help improve the economic situation, the support to the people, combating of organized crime and the restoration of all the passenger and freight train routes,” it is said in a communiqué from the Government. The Transnistrian leader’s visit to Chisinau wasn’t announced.
