Medical goods will be subject to requisition

The Government approved an amendment to the Law on the requisition of material goods and providing services in public interest, Info- Prim Neo reports. By this law, adopted in October 2002, the public authorities can oblige institutions, enterprises and citizens to temporary concede some material goods or services, which would be returned afterwards. This can happen only in cases of serious natural disasters, or other emergency situations, when the state reserves are insufficient for a rapid and efficient intervention for liquidating consequences. The new reading of the article 5, proposed by the government, will add to the list of goods which can be requisitioned medication, pharmaceutical consumables and medical equipment. Another amendment to the same law provides for the membership of the Minister of Healthcare in the Requisition Commission.
