Medical examination before marriage no longer mandatory
The compulsoriness of the medical examination before marriage will be annulled. Relevant amendments to the Family Code and the Law on the Child’s Rights were approved by the Government and are to be adopted by Parliament, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Minister of Health Andrei Usatyi said that this examination that is mandatory at present infringes the human rights and freedoms concerning the private and family life guaranteed by the international legislation.
The medical examination before marriage will be done at the couple’s request. Confidentiality will be ensured.
