The medical equipment of the Fălești, Edineț and Rezina District Hospitals was modernized in the framework of three projects financed by the Government of Japan through the Kusanone Grant Program (Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects). The results of the three initiatives were presented in an online projects completion event held on February 16, IPN reports.
The project to modernize the medical equipment at the Fălești District Hospital was launched in 2018. The hospital benefited from grant funding in the amount of US$83,279 for purchasing equipment. The purchase strengthened the institution’s capacity to offer medical services for diagnosing diseases of the digestive and respiratory systems and cancer.
Within another project that was launched also in 2018, the Edineț District Hospital benefitted from US$60,504 worth of grants for buying devices for the Perinatal Center, inclining a neonatal incubator, two mechanical gynecology exam chairs and ten newborn beds. The new equipment will improve the institution’s capacity to offer modern and safe medical prenatal and delivery services.
The project to modernize the medical equipment at the Rezina District Hospital was launched in 2019. The medical institution benefitted from a grant of US$78,690 for purchasing a number of devices that will help increase the volume and quality of laboratory and imaging investigations, treat respiratory diseases and perform high-quality surgeries.
