Media NGOs worried about aggression against Prime TV reporters

Media organizations are worried about the aggression against the Prime TV crew on July 19, in Soldanesti district. The incident occurred while the journalists were filming a reportage on the territory of the National Forest Fund in the area, Info-Prim Neo reports. The Prime TV journalists were shooting on the territory of Soldanesti forest, which is public property. Two people came, claiming to be owners of the land, and forbid the journalists to film, aggressing them physically and verbally. They ousted the reporters from the territory, which they claimed to be “private property”. According to National Agency Moldsilva however, the land where the crew was filming is public property. Media NGOs ask the national authorities to honor their duty and ensure normal conditions for people, including journalists, to do their job safely and professionally, to have access to public spaces. The petition was signed by the Association of Independent Press, the Association of Electronic Press in Moldova, the Center of Journalistic Investigations, the Young Journalist’s Center in Moldova, the Center for Freedom of Press and Access-Info.
