Media NGOs signal new case of journalist aggressed
Media NGOs express their protest as to a new case aggression of cameraman Ghenadie Brega, from Eu TV station, Info-Prim Neo reports quoting a declaration of the 7 NGOs.
On July 9 , Ghenadie Brega went to the Chisinau prosecutor's office to take pictures with one of the youths searched in the case of the forum-writers accused of calling to violently overthrowing the constitutional regime. He was physically and verbally attacked by a person civilian clothes getting out from the Procuratura. Although Ghenadie Brega announced he is a journalist and legally films in the court of a public building, the person brutally asked him to leave and hit the camera several times, the declaration reads .
The media NGOs call on authorities to take measures to identify and punish the the guilty in this case, as in other cases of aggressing journalists . “We ask for the strict control of the Constitutional right of access to information in conformity with the law ans the international norms,” the signatories say.
The declaration is signed by the Independent Journalism Center, the Association of the Independent Press, the APEL Broadcasters Association, the Journalists Union from Moldova, the Acces-Info Center, the Journalism Investigation Center and the Committee for the Press Freedom .
