The Socialist MPs suggest introducing the concept of intimidation into the legislation and, based on it, developing strategies and programs and training specialists. They also propose supplementing the Education Code with an article about nonviolence in schools, IPN reports.
In a press briefing, the head of the Parliament’s commission on social protection, health and family Vladimir Odnostalco referred to the case that happened recently in Chisinau, when a group of girls beat and humiliated another girl and then posted videos of the maltreatment. He expressed his regret at the fact that such cases are noticed only when the situation becomes serious.
The MP noted that the schools are short of qualified psychologists. Only 425 psychologists work in schools for 580,000 students, which is one specialist for 1,365 students.
The Socialist MPs registered a bill on the status of psychologist and propose adopting it urgently. They also suggest consolidating the formation of teachers and designing a set of tools for the work with parents.
A video disseminated by the media and through social networking sites on February 7 showed a group of girls beating a teenage girl. The police swiftly identified the victim. She is 15. The girl said the conflict arouse on Mircea cel Bătrân Blvd, behind a supermarket. Legal action was taken in this case.
