A mayor of a locality within Chisinau municipality is decided to boycott the mayoralty’s working meetings, due to their inefficiency. The mayor of Colonita village, Maria Iarmenco, said that her presence has no reason at the operative meetings of the mayoralty that, practically, do not solve anything and spends time in vain. „None of the issues I have voiced during these meetings ware solved, thus I’m trying to find a way out in higher-ranking institutions,” Maria Iarmenco noted. Mayor of Colonita highlighted that she has required many times the assistance of the mayoralty in order to solve urgent community problems, but the efficiency of these appeals was equal to zero. Therefore, for a year already, the wall of the school of the locality is falling down, due to the roof damaged during the disasters of August 2005, which affected as well the Health Center. The assistance of the municipality mayoralty was needed as the budget of the community couldn’t cover the expenses of 600,000 lei, having annual incomes of only 350,000 lei. At the same time, the municipal authorities did not contribute to repairing the road of the locality, and the traffic sings, asked repeatedly, were installed only after the involvement of the General Police Station. The mayor of the village Ciorescu, Boris Plesca, also confirmed that no attention is paid to the problems of the localities composing the municipality during the mayoralty’s working meetings. In the same context, the mayor of the village Tohatin, Sergiu Cibotaru, reported that the mayors of the localities spend their time in vain at these meetings, being over-tired of the information regarding the reconstruction of the streets of Chisinau and preparing for holidays. „None of the problems of the localities is solved, the same situation being registered at the meetings of the Municipal Council,” Sergiu Cibotaru said. The mayor of Sangera town, Ghenadi Iurco, says that the working meetings are „good occasions for mayors of the localities to meet each other” or „to discuss in private with the heads of the municipal subdivisions”. IPN will insist on disclosing other mayors' opinions regarding the efficiency of the mayoralty’s working meetings, assembled every Monday.
