The municipality promises to arrange those 10 model-districts, 2 for each district of the city, by 14 October, on City’s Day. Until next Wednesday, the pretures are to present the works’ schedule according to a unique plan, on which basis the authorities will check the works. The deputy mayor, Veaceslav Iordan, noted that the fitting works have already started in model-districts. Once the works program is set, the pretures are to present financial reports for CMC approval. Fitting up these model-districts was required by the president Vladimir Voronin, at a recent meeting of the mayoralty, attended by decision-making bodies of central and local administration. Even if the last year the mayoralty arranged for fitting up works in 5 districts, financing them from the local budget, this year, the works operated by the mayoralty do not include repairing roofs and engineer networks. According to the mayoralty’s management, these have to be done by the inhabitants’ associations, as „the owners of private apartments have to take care of the situation of the block they live in as well”. According to the counselor of the interim mayor, Tudor Garbu, this year, there are foreseen 47 million lei in the local budget for fitting up the model-districts of municipality, even if 136 million are needed in fact. Previously, the interim mayor Vasile Ursu said that he hopes to get the necessary money for the mayoralty’s needs, including for the model-districts, by selling the right to build the „District nr.9” in Ciocana district.
