Mayoral runoffs in two villages won by Democrats, preliminary results

Democratic Party candidates emerged victorious this Sunday in the second round of snap mayoral elections in Danu commune, Glodeni district, and in Hristici village, Soroca district, according to preliminary results.
Central Election Commission Secretary Andrei Volentir said that in Danu commune Democrat Mihail Ursu polled 52.3%, as Communist Zinovia Timinscaia garnered 47.06%.
In Hristici village, Democrat Dumitru Cebotari won the second round of the snap elections with 53.38% of the vote, as Liberal-Democrat challenger Eugenia Raileanu got 45.21%.
