Chisinau Mayor Dorin Chirtoaca has requested the General Division of Public Transportation and Roads to come up with a clear plan that would resolve the minibus problem, which could be proposed to the route administrators, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to the Mayor, the problem is not only the fare increase but also the quality of the offered service. “I'm asking the Division to come up with proposals and solutions that we could offer to the route administrators. The current conditions are outdated, new conditions are necessary to practice this business”, stated Chirtoaca. The Mayor added that the problems won’t be solved in an instant. The task must be clearly set in front of the administrators. 1,860 minibuses run on the city's routes. The administrators ask for the fare to be raised to 5 lei.
