The mayor of Cimiseni village of Criuleni district Ghenadie Rabei has said that the Party of Communists (PCRM) opens legal cases against him in order to take over the mayor’s office. Since 2003, Rabei had been a candidate on the lists of the Moldova-Noastra Alliance. Currently, he belongs to no political organization. At a news conference on Wednesday, Ghenadie Rabei said that the law enforcement bodies instituted six legal cases against him over different accusations, by order of the PCRM. One case was started during the previous electoral campaign, while the last case – three days ago, Info-Prim Neo reports. The mayor said that he is accused of bribery, non-fulfillment of the court decision to hand over the stamp of the mayor’s office, use of forged stamp, sale of public property. “The Communists have always destroyed what is good. I can say I have been practically the best mayor of Cimiseni. Despite the crisis, the mayor’s office has 1 million lei available in the budget,” Ghenadie Rabei said. He also said that now he cannot fulfill his duties and the local administration is in chaos. The prosecutor’s office tells the councilors who to vote for. “In the local council, we have a councilor that represents the Christian Democratic People’s Party. He is intimidating into voting for the Communists. Otherwise, they threaten to arrest his son,” Ghenadie Rabei said.
