Mayor of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca instructed that the amount of heat supplied to the housing stock and public institutions be reduced to a minimum so that the temperature in buildings is as low as possible. He said that only this way can the City Hall help the dwellers to avoid paying large sums for heat, Info-Prim Neo reports. Until it is warm outside, there is no need to increase the volume of heat in the system, said Dorin Chirtoaca. Petru Gontea, the head of the Public Amenities Division, said the volume of heat supplied on the weekend was increased to 75% of the capacity at the dwellers’ request. Earlier, the heating system worked to a capacity of 25%. Owing to the measures taken to economize on heat, consumption in October and November in Chisinau and its suburbs was twice lower than in the corresponding period last year.
