The mayor general of Chisinau municipality can now independently form the own staff following the publication of changes made to the legislation in the December 30 issue of the Official Gazette, IPN reports.

The staff of the mayor general of Chisinau municipality is a body that advises the mayor and can represent this in the relations with the people. By the made changes, the posts of district head and deputy district head of Chisinau municipality were included in the category of public posts, alongside the posts of mayor and deputy mayor. The district head will have a salary of 7,700 lei, while the deputy district head of 6,900 lei.

The members of the staff of the mayor general of Chisinau municipality will be named by an administrative act issued by the mayor general. Earlier, in accordance with the law on the local public administration, the appointment and dismissal of the mayor’s representative at the local level were negotiated with the Chisinau Municipal Council.
