Mayor of Causeni is elected
Independent candidate for Mayor of Causeni Grigore Repesciuc won the repeat elections on Sunday, July 31, outvoting Communist candidate Veaceslav Nigai. According to data from the Causeni electoral precinct council, Grigore Repesciuc obtained 3,931 votes, or 64.01% of all votes.
Grigore Demian, head of the Causeni electoral precinct council, has told Info-Prim Neo that some infringements have been observed on election day. “We received complaints that PCRM supporters advertised their candidate at most polling stations. One of the members of polling station no.3 was physically threatened by a representative of the independent candidate”, said Grigore Demian.
6,141 of the 14,214 eligible voters participated in the election in Causeni on Sunday. 49 ballot papers were annulled.
