The tax of 10 lei per month for cleanup in Chisinau municipality remains in force. According to mayor Ion Ceban, the decision approved by the PAS and PSRM councilors does not cancel the tax.
"Absolutely nothing has changed in this regard and, even if it something had changed, the tax is charged for the previous year of management. We are not even talking about the current year," the mayor said, quoted by IPN.
Ion Ceban noted that, if necessary, they will also go to court.
"I didn't see PAS and Socialist councilors expressing their dissatisfaction with the gas bills, which increased by 3,000, 4,000 lei, but they were bothered by the cleanup tax of 10 lei. The purpose was still somehow to block the work of the City Hall," said Ion Ceban.
The cleanup tax in Chisinau municipality, in the amount of 10 lei per month or 120 lei annually, was cancelled at the CMC meeting of January 28, with the votes of 26 councilors: 19 councilors of the Party of Action and Solidarity, 6 Socialist councilors and the councilor of the Political Party "Dignity and Truth Platform " Victor Chironda.
The councilors of the two groups concerned, the PAS and PSRM, said that the approved decision is legal and that any attempt by the Chisinau City Hall to block this process is an administrative abuse.
