Mayor Dorin Chirtoaca is dissatisfied with the draft 2012 municipal budget, in particular with the amount of investments. The Mayor also requested that the administrative expenses should not exceed this year's amount or should even be lower. The planned amount of capital investments for 2012 was proposed at 125 million lei. “Don't give me such a budget or I'm losing my patience. The size of investments should be between 300 and 400 million lei. Don't even come near me if it's less than 300 million”, the Mayor told Finance Department head Veronica Herţa. Chirtoaca requested that the amount of investments for the suburbs should at least double compared to this year, as the expenses for the municipal divisions should be lowered. “You need to check where expenses exceed this year's level. The right approach is to go lower and it will surely yield results”. The current draft 2012 budget of Chisinau municipality provides for incomes of 2.48 billion lei, up by 0.53 billion on this year, and for expenses of 2.58 billion lei.
