Moldovan athlete Maxim Raileanu won silver in the Balkan Marathon Championships held in Zagreb, IPN reports.
He broke his own record and covered the distance in 2 hours, 26 minutes and 22 seconds. Raileanu was bettered by Turkey’s Yavuz Agrali, while the bronze was won by Robert Radojkovic of Croatia.
Maxim Raileanu is one of the five marathoners who have chances of qualifying for the Tokyo Olympics on behalf of Moldova. The qualification competition starts in January 2019.
