Athlete Maxim Răileanu took an important step towards qualification for the Olympic Games of Paris. The 28-year-old athlete broke his personal record at the marathon held in Seville: 2:11:12, IPN reports.
“The qualification for the Olympic Games of Paris according to the new system enables one athlete from each country with 2:11:30 or who is among the top 80 by rating to qualify. It is a result that, by the world rating, enables to qualify for the World Championships in Budapest,” said his coach Roman Prodius, who competed in the Olympic Games for two times.
Maxim Răileanu competed in the 2019 Summer Universiade in Napoli and finished 28th with the result of 1:15:05.
