Moldovan tennis player Maxim Dubarenco was eliminated from the ITF Isrotel tournament by Italy’s Claudio Fortuna. The game from the quarterfinals lasted for two sets, 5-7, 3-6, IPN reports.
Earlier, Dubarenco, who is the second best tennis player of Moldova, eliminated from the competition the favorite of the local public, Bar Tzur Botzer of Israel, by 6-3, 6-0.
Dubarenco is returning to Chisinau, where he will prepare for the Davis Cup duel against Egypt. The games of the first round of the Europe/Africa Zone Group will take place at the Polyvalent Sports Hall in Chisinau between January 31 and February 2.
Roman Borvanov competed in the doubles of the Florida tournament, together with David Krisovan from the U.S. They were eliminated in quarterfinals by Mirzuki (Malaysia) / Minarj (Czech Republic) by 1-6, 3-6. Borvanov wasn’t included in the national tennis team for the duel against Egypt.
