Moldovan tennis player Maxim Dubarenco didn’t manage to qualify for the final of the Futures tournament of Astana, whose prize money totals US$15,000. He was eliminated in the semifinals by Russia’s Mihail Elghin 4-6, 5-7, IPN reports.
At the competition in Kazakhstan, Dubarenco beat Sanetulla Kutybaev of Uzbekistan and Dmitri Resneanski and Dmitri Popko of Kazakhstan. As he qualified for the semifinals, the 22-year-old Moldovan athlete won a prize of US$753 and 8 points in the ATP rankings. Currently, the member of the national team of Moldova for the Davis Cup ranks the 413th in the world.
Maxim Dubarenco also took part in the men’s doubles together with Dmitri Jyrmont of Belarus. They were eliminated in the first round.
