The delivery ward of the maternity hospital of the Chisinau Mother and Child Institute was fully renovated and outfitted with modern medical equipment within a project implemented as part of the campaign “Revive Moldova”, IPN reports.
According to a communiqué of the campaign, before the first patients could benefit from the modern conditions of the delivery ward, the initiator of the “Revive Moldova” campaign, first deputy chairman of the Democratic Party Vlad Plahotniuc asked holding a service to bless the ward. His Holiness Petru, Bishop of Ungheni and Nisporeni, officiated at the service
On his occasion, His Holiness Petru noted that by providing modern conditions for mothers and newborns, the Moldovan families are being encouraged. “We are glad that there are such people as Mister Plahotniuc and those who did so much work to have this hall renovated. Children who are the future of our country are born here,” he stated.
“The last time I was here, I promised we will transform this maternity hospital into a modern one and that we will adjust it to the European standards. Today this is a modern hospital and I feel proud that the delivery ward was modernized owing to the campaign “Revive Moldova”. This is how a really European institution should look and this is how Moldova can look in the near future – modernized, clean and nice. It can become so not in several days, but in several years and this is an achievable objective,” said Vlad Plahotniuc.
The works to repair the Mother and Child Institute are performed with the support of Edelweiss Foundation managed by Vlad Plahotniuc, with funds collected within the campaign “Revive Moldova”. Popular with the people in Moldova and abroad, the campaign attained the objective to raise the money needed for completing the modernization works in 2015.
So far, there were renovated the admission ward, the main entrance to the maternity hospital and the first delivery ward.
