The maternity hospital of the Mother and Child Center will be closed for cosmetic repair for three weeks. Eighty-two pregnant women were transferred to the municipal hospital No. 1, while a large number of persons treated in the pathology section were discharged, Marin Rotaru, the head of the maternity hospital, told Info-Prim Neo. While the repair works will be carried out, the 500 employees of the maternity hospital will be on leave. However, about 200 of them will come to the workplace to lend a hand and supervise the works. Ion Ilinciuc, the director of the Mother and Child Center, said 50,000 lei will be allocated from the institution's budget for cosmetically renovating 13 clinical sections. According to him, the Mother and Child Center hasn't been extensively repaired for about 30 years. About 200 million lei is needed for the purpose. The Mother and Child Center was set up instead of the National Center for Mother and Child Healthcare in 1981.
