Japan’s Ambassador in Chisinau Masanobu Yoshii said that during the 25 years of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Moldova and Japan, the two states have cooperated, signed agreements and the bilateral relations will be yet intensified and developed. In the talk show “Place for dialogue” on Radio Moldova station, the diplomat said Japan has offered Moldova assistance in different areas and remains an important partner of the Republic of Moldova, IPN reports.
The Japanese diplomat said that by projects and assistance, Japan wants to make the Moldovans’ life better and to help the Republic of Moldova be more stable from economic viewpoint. A series of grant agreements to support a number of sectors have been signed in the recent past. The agricultural sector is one of these. Agriculture and industry are the pillars a prosperous economy. There were also signed grant agreements in health and education.
The ambassador also said that Japan imports food products from Moldova and the Moldovan wines become known in Japan. The Japanese investors expand into Moldova. There are a number of Japanese investors that develop businesses here and created jobs. Masanobu Yoshii voiced hope that more Japanese investors will come to Moldova in the future to offer jobs.
The diplomat said the social-cultural relations that form the basis of the friendship relations between the two states are as important. In this regard, activities to promote knowledge of Japan and the Japanese language are staged in Moldova. Also, on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Moldovan-Japanese diplomatic relations, Japan’s Embassy organized the first Japanese Film Festival within which there were presented three pictures.
The diplomatic relations between the Republic of Moldova and Japan were established on March 16, 1992.
