Martsishors for Moldovans abroad

The Bureau for Diaspora Relations (BDR) by March 1 will send 1,500 martsishors (spring amulets worn at chest) made by children to the associations of Moldovans and Moldova’s embassies abroad, IPN reports.

This year martsishors will be delivered to Austria, Russia, Kazakhstan, France, the UK, Hungary, Latvia, Finland, Spain, Italy, Norway, Portugal, the United States, and Canada. The Moldovans from the diaspora will also get national costumes, children’s books, the tourist’s brochure “EtnoMoldova”, the journal “Moldova anywhere”, maps and calendars BDR 2017.

The organizers aim to keep the specific customs and traditions of Moldova and to promote the rights and positive image of the persons with disabilities and sensitize society to the problems and potential of these persons and to the necessity of integrating them socially, educationally and professionally.

The event form part of the campaign “Martsishor with longing for home” that has been staged by the BDR the fourth consecutive year in partnership with the Center for Rehabilitation and Social Integration of Children with Intellectual Disabilities CULTUM of Stauceni commune. This year the day center for children with disabilities “Phoenix” of Rascani town also joined in the campaign.
