The prices of fruit, vegetables, dairy products and meat at the Central Market of Chisinau remained practically the same as last week. Beef and pork are sold for 65 lei/kg and up. Ewe milk cheese costs 85 lei/kg, while cow milk cheese 40 lei/kg. Ten hen eggs can be bought for 18‑20 lei. Traders say the prices will go up closer to the winter holidays, IPN reports.
The price of a kilogram of tomatoes costs 25 lei and up. Cucumbers are sold for 35 lei/kg and up. Homegrown bell papers can be bought for 25 lei/kg, while the imported ones for twice as much. Capsicums are sold for 40 lei/kg, eggplants for 30 lei/kg, onions, carrots, potatoes or beetroots for the old prices of 5 or 6 lei/kg. Cabbage costs 3 lei/kg. A bunch of green onion tops, parsley and dill can be bought for 3 lei.
Mushrooms are sold for 23 lei/kg. Walnut kernel costs 130 lei/kg and up, while dried plums 40 to 50 lei/kg. A kilogram of pickled tomatoes costs 20 lei, of pickles cucumbers – 15 lei, of pickled cabbage – 15 lei, while of pickled watermelon - 50 lei/kg.
Crap can be bought for 55 lei/kg, crucian fish for 30 lei/kg and up, shrimps for almost 130 lei/kg, perch for 82 lei/kg, calamari for 75 lei/kg and up and mackerel for 45 lei/kg and up.
Grapes and pears cost 12 lei/kg, apples 7‑8 lei/kg, citrus fruit 22-35 lei/kg and more. Bananas are sold for 25 lei/kg, while pomegranates for 33 lei/kg.
