Mark Tkaciuk explains why he left Parliament

Former Communist lawmaker Mark Tkachuk said he renounced his seat in Parliament because he was dissatisfied with the position of the administration of the Communist Party (PCRM), which changed its political attitude to Russia. However, he noted that he remains Communist, even if he may be excluded from the party, and that will never join another party because the PCRM is, according to him, the only people’s hope for a better future, IPN reports.

“You cannot expect praise from the European Union when you want to become part of the Customs Union. You cannot make unclear comments in the most difficult period and wait for applause from those who want the party to be liquidated. This is what made me to send a letter to all the members of the Political Committee of the PCRM, where I described my dissatisfaction with the political practice of the party and informed about my intention to vacate the seat,” Mark Tkachuk said in a press briefing on June 6.

He noted that the future fate of Moldova depends on the actions and position of the PCRM. In six months, the country will be either appropriated by oligarchs or will be freed. The PCRM is the only county that can ensure the country’s development.

The politician accuses Vlad Plahotniuc of attempting to take over the PCRM, by his supporters, in order to make the party fail politically and lose the elections. “Rebels’ actions will be unsuccessful. I demand that they give up attacking the party,” said the former MP.

Mark Tkachuk vacated his seat of MP on May 23.
