Mark Tkachuk: People should be taken to the streets to seek dissolution of Parliament

The leader of the Common Action – Civic Congress Party Mark Tkachuk said the exerting of pressure by protests is the only method of breaking the political deadlock in Moldova. According to the former Communist MP, the people should be taken to the streets in an organized way so that they seek the dissolution of Parliament and calling of snap elections. Tkachuk also said that his party will compete in the next elections, IPN reports.

According to Mark Tkachuk, the mounting of large-scale protests to seek the dissolution of Parliament is a democratic method of solving the political crisis in Moldova, by observing the people’s will.

“The people should be taken to the streets in an organized way. In the absence of organization, everything will turn into “April 7”. If we really want to change something, we must understand that without the citizen’ active participation, this will not be possible. The people should be taken to the streets to demand that Parliament be dissolved,” Mark Tkachuk stated in the talk show “Natalia Morari’s Politics” on TV8 channel.

The ex-presidential adviser is sure that the Democratic Party and all the groups that separated themselves from this party will not enter the next Parliament. Furthermore, the next Parliament will enjoy greater legitimacy than the current one.

“The next Parliament will be without the Democratic Party. All the derivatives of the PDM, this political trash, will not be present in the next legislature. The next Parliament will definitely be more principled. There will be fewer such elements as bags with money, blackmailing and pressure,” noted Mark Tkachuk.

The politician said the Common Action – Civic Congress Party is preparing to take part in all the electoral exercises that will follow, starting with the elections in Gagauzia.

Earlier, the Central Election Commission said that 120 million lei will be needed for the proper organization of snap parliamentary elections. Acting Prime Minister Aureliu Ciocoi noted that if there is no Government with full powers to approve the allocation of funds from the 2021 state budget, money for organizing the elections will be taken from the Reserve Fund.
