Mark Tkachuk: Film about April 7 is an attempt to falsify the truth

Communist MP Mark Tkachuk, former adviser to Vladimir Voronin, denies the information made public in a film that appeared recently in Chisinau, where he is accused of staging the April 7, 2009 protests together with the Russian writer Eduard Baghirov. In a news conference on Tuesday, Tkachuk accused the country’s administration, especially the Prosecutor General’s Office and the Security and Information Service, of making the film, Info-Prim Neo reports. “It is an attempt to falsify the truth about April 7 and to discredit the Communist Party,” Mark Tkachuk said after being questioned at the Prosecutor’s Office. According to the lawmaker, the law enforcement bodies have no proofs, while the authors of these manipulations should be imprisoned. He also said that there is no evidence that he has relations with Baghirov, stressing the escape of the Russian blogger was organized by the Moldovan authorities. Mark Tkachuk stated that he cannot sue the authors of the film because they are anonymous.
