I’m in Chisinau and will be Romania’s ambassador until I’m here, said Ambassador Marius Lazurca. Contacted by IPN, this noted that he will stay in Chisinau until the Romanian President and foreign affairs minister need his services here and until he is called to Budapest.
“Anyway, the common law and regulations based on which we work provide that this period, after the signing of the recalling decree, should not exceed 90 days. So, not more than 90 days will pass between the day the decree was signed and my leaving,” stated Marius Lazurca.
The ambassador also said that a number of things are to take place between his recalling and his leaving. “As there are so many uncertain things, the date of our leaving is uncertain too,” stated the diplomat.
Marius Lazurca has served as ambassador in Moldova since 2010.
At the beginning of this week, the President of Romania Klaus Iohannis signed decrees to recall a number of ambassadors, including Marius Lazurca, who was nominated for Romania’s ambassador in Hungary.
