Marius Lazurca: Citizens expect transparent, prompt and equitable justice

The citizens of Moldova expect transparent, prompt and equitable justice, said Romania’s Ambassador in Chisinau Marius Lazurca. In a meeting with Minister of Justice Vladimir Grosu on March 12, the diplomat stated that Romania will continue to support the reforms in this field, which is one of major importance, IPN reports.

“We encourage you to continue the reforms. We confirm that we will support the steps you take both with technical assistance and with expertise,” said Marius Lazurca.

The ambassador voiced hope that the intense Moldovan-Romanian cooperation in the justice sector will be strengthened. “The Embassy of Romania is ready to ensure connection between the National Integrity Commission of Moldova and the National Integrity Agency of Romania for a continuous exchange of experience and good practices,” he stated.

Vladimir Grosu assured that the changes taking place in the legal system will continue and the pace will be maintained for achieving the objectives stipulated in the justice sector reform strategy for 2011-2016. “We will not stop doing the initiated reforms. We assumed responsibility for continuing them and implementing them till the end and for starting new reforms. We want the people to regain confidence in justice,” he said. The minister thanked the diplomat for Romania’s attitude and interest in the reforms done in Moldova.
