Marius Lazurca: Chisinau must be treated more exactingly in reformation process

Romania wants to continue to help the Republic of Moldova and will insist on the implementation of reforms, Romanian Ambassador in Chisinau Marius Lazurca said in the talk show “Fabrika” on Publika TV channel, IPN reports.

“Romania decided to adopt a gradual approach, by communicating our expectations as regards reforms. The letter addressed to Prime Minister Filip was our first significant gesture. This defines the road that must be covered up to the transfer of the first tranche of the Romanian loan. When this stage is over, we intend to develop the dialogue and to share our experience with the Government of Moldova. If things go well, Romania will transfer €110 million this year,” said the diplomat.

Marius Lazrca also said that the Government of Romania will more attentively follow the reformation process in the Republic of Moldova. “We realized that the Republic of Moldova must be treated more exactingly, for its own benefit. We must have a closer relationship so as to make sure that the assistance provided to the Republic of Moldova influences the reformation and modernization process,” he stated.

The ambassador noted that the Romanian Government is ready to implement new projects in the Republic of Moldova, if the conditions concerning the implementation of reforms are met. “We want to continue the projects that we started the previous years. Romania is ready to support the modernization efforts of the current Government. Romania will offer the promised support when it sees the made efforts. The situation is not simple. The way in which Moldova develops over the next few years will depend on the way the Government meets the people’s expectations. We also intend to launch new projects,” stated Marius Lazurca.
