The MP of Shor Party group, Marina Tauber, argues that "the price of justice and the way to it has become too expensive in the Republic of Moldova lately". After being placed under judicial control in a bank fraud case yesterday, the MP attended today’s Parliament sitting. At a press briefing held before the sitting, the MP stated that since September 18, when she was detained until yesterday, she had been "subjected to ill-treatment, to put it mildly," IPN reports.
Marina Tauber claims that she does not want even those who put her in this situation to experience the nightmare she went through. "Arrest, interrogation, isolation, trial, house arrest and all these things affected not only me but also, which is the most terrible thing, my relatives, colleagues and friends," said the MP.
The MP believes that the pressure she, leader of the party Ilan Şor, her group and party colleagues are under "has a political nature, being aimed at destroying the party, intimidating the supporters and voters of the party, especially now before the elections". "The illegal way in which we are treated by the government shows vindictiveness and the attempt to silence us. But we state firmly that they will not stop us, we will not give in,” says Marina Tauber.
Marina Tauber has also mentioned that all this is happening because "she told the truth from the Parliament rostrum, including the fact that Alexei Greceanii, husband of the Speaker of the Parliament Zinaida Greceanîi, did not return the money he took “as loans” from the Banca de Economii /Savings Bank. "It is precisely for these reasons that they have taken so many unlawful actions against me and our colleagues. From lifting immunity, to arrest, physical force and threats of all kinds,” said Marina Tauber.
The MP has also said that on October 9, the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office confirmed to her in a letter that in the case concerning Alexei Greceanii and the Greceanii family criminal proceedings had been initiated long time ago.
Marina Tauber and her group colleague, Reghina Apostolova, were stripped of parliamentary immunity at the request of interim Prosecutor General Dumitru Robu. According to the Prosecutor General, there is conclusive evidence regarding the involvement of MPs in the bank fraud.
