Deputies Marina Tauber and Reghina Apostolova, who have been stripped of immunity by the Parliament, were detained on Monday evening, September 16. The Prosecutor General's Office notes that the detention comes as a result of "their attempt to avoid criminal prosecution", IPN reports.

A press release of the Prosecutor's Office stated that "leaving the premises (the Parliament – editor’s note.) and their driving to an unknown destination, made it necessary to detain them so as to take prosecution measures ".

At the same time, the General Prosecutor's Office mentions that the purpose of the request before the Parliament "was not aimed precisely at the detention of the persons concerned - although the law allows it - but at lifting their immunity for carrying out criminal prosecution actions, which include a complex set of measures". The Prosecutor's Office promises to give soon more details on the case.

Acting General Prosecutor Dumitru Robu stated at the Parliament plenary of the same day that there was conclusive evidence regarding the involvement of the MPs in the bank fraud. According to the prosecutor, Marina Tauber and Reghina Apostolova, since August 17, 2012, have actively participated in the looting of the banking system, helping Ilan Șor' s group take over a bank.

Subsequently, Denis Ulanov, a member of Șor Party group, described the requests for withdrawing the immunity of Marina Tauber and Reghina Apostolova as a "political and personal revenge" against the party chairman, Ilan Șor, on the part of President Igor Dodon. He says that the party MPs are not afraid, do not believe themselves guilty and do not intend to hide.
