Marin Robu has won three medals at the World Weightlifting Cup in Rome in the 73 kg weight class, IPN reports.

Robu won the snatch event with the result of 152 kg. He ranked second in clean and jerk after lifting 180 kg and second with the total result. He set a new European Under 20 record both in snatch and in total with the result of 332 kg.

Another Moldovan weightlifter, Daniel Lungu (61 kg), finished eighth with a total of 243 kg.

At the competition in Rome, Moldova will also be represented by Tudor Ciobanu and Elena Kylchik.
