Marin Maxian quits as deputy head of General Police Inspectorate

Marin Maxian leaves the post of deputy head of the General Police Inspectorate. The resignation was accepted by the institution’s administration “in connection with the new human resources policies and institutional management”, IPN reports.

The resignation tendered by Oleg Pasat from the post of deputy head of the National Investigation Inspectorate was also accepted.

“The key priority of our institution is to build a united team, which would work for the benefit of all the citizens so as to offer the safety they want,” the General Police Inspectorate noted in a press release.

Earlier, Marin Maxian led the General Public Security Division of the General Police Inspectorate and also the National Patrol Inspectorate, currently the National Public Security Inspectorate. Since June 2020, Marin Maxian had served as the deputy head of the General Police Inspectorate, together with the appointment by the Chicu Government of Sergiu Paiu as head of the Inspectorate. The latter was dismissed on August 12, 2021.

Recently, Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu in a TV program said that the presence of Marin Maxian at the General Police Inspectorate is a shame. Addressing the administration of the Ministry of the Interior, he said that if such persons are not tolerated in the system, the institution will gain confidence.

Earlier this week, the Gavrilița Government appointed Iurie Podarilov, who had worked for over 20 years in the subdivisions of the Ministry of the Interior, as chief of the General Police Inspectorate.
