Marin Gurin is the new governmental agent of Moldova at the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR). This was confirmed to post by a Cabinet decision of March 18, IPN reports.
Minister of Justice Vladimir Cebotari said that Marin Gurin has experience in the field as he worked as assistant jurist at the ECHR and held the post on an interim basis until recently. “He was selected at a contest. Regretfully, the contest involved only one candidate. However, the contest commission that consisted of representatives of civil society and former governmental agents at the ECHR approved of Marin Gurin, who scored 9.32 points at the three tests. We think this person will fulfill his new obligations,” stated the minister.
In the same meeting, the Cabinet accepted Andrei Popov’s resignation from the post of Moldova’s Ambassador to Austria and, simultaneously, to Slovakia. The draft decree is to be signed by the Head of State.
Another draft presidential decision approved by the executive refers to the dismissal of Igor Gorgan from the post of General Staff Chief of the National Army and Commander of the National Army. Also, Alexandru Morcov was discharged from the post of vice director general of the Agency for Land Relations and Cadaster based on his resignation.
