Two people from Telenesti district have been detained, being suspected of growing and marketing marijuana. Law enforcement officers seized about five kilos of shredded marijuana and over eight kilos of dried and unprocessed marijuana. According to the General Police Inspectorate, the value of the drugs on the black market is about 500 thousand lei, IPN reports.

According to the IGP, the investigations began in September, and at the end of October, following special investigative measures in Telenesti district, two suspects were detained, and searches were carried out at their homes.

The suspects are 53 and 55 years old and are being held in prison on remand for a 30-day term. If they are found guilty, they risk criminal penalty - from 7 to 15 years in prison.
