Mariana Durleșteanu, who withdrew her candidacy for Prime Minister, said that she initially accepted the Party of Socialists’ proposal as she wanted to make a change inside the Government so as not to regret the vote given in elections, but she knew that different scenarios were employed behind her back, IPN reports.
“To calm down warriors Candu and Filip, I will explain my decision. Mister Candu knows very well what condition I imposed as to the support of the Shor Party. I have nothing to do with Missis Tauber or other persons from this party, but it was from the start a position I reiterated. Misters Shor, Candu and Filip should read once again the Kroll report as the jail is anyway the final destination. I accepted the PSRM’s proposal because there are 37 votes of MP, not 15 versus the Pokémons,” Mariana Durleșteanu posted on Facebook.
She noted that her position was clear from the start: technocratic government without people from the parliamentary groups. “Even if that Filip says that something like is not possible, there was such a government – the Cioloș Government. I know that by political will and assumption of responsibility, good things can be done, but something like this does not exist in Moldova, regrettably. We have only personal and clan interests here.”
Mariana Durleșteanu two days ago announced her decision to withdraw her candidacy for premiership, after being proposed to the post by the parliamentary majority announced by the Party of Socialists and the Shor Party. After the negotiations held with the parliamentary groups, President Maia Sandu said that she took note of Marianei Durleșteanu’s decision and as there is no candidate supported by a formalized parliamentary majority, she decided to propose PAS president Igor Grosu for Prime Minister. On March 17, the Party of Socialists challenged the presidential decree in the Constitutional Court and announced that they would present another candidate for Premier.
