Mariana Dragutan lost the match for the bronze medal at the Cadets World Wrestling Championships held in Athens. She was beaten by Minakshi Minakshi of India 2-6, IPN reports.

In the 1/8 finals, Dragutan eliminated Alisha Sue Howk of the U.S. 10-8, but then lost the quarterfinals match against Romania’s Andreea Beatrice Ana 0-8. Andreea Beatrice Ana reached the final in the 52 kg weight class. In the runoffs, Dragutan defeated Germany’s Josefine Maria Purschke.

In July, Mariana Dragutan won bronze at the Cadets European Women’s Wrestling Championships that took place in Sarajevo.
