Marian Lupu will speak about the opportunities of the Eastern Partnership in Brussels

Moldovan Speaker Marian Lupu on Saturday left for Brussels where he will be until April 13. Alongside Igor Corman, head of the parliamentary commission for foreign policy and European integration, he will participate in the 4th Assembly of the Community of Democracies’ Parliamentary Forum at the European Parliament, on April 11. Marian Lupu will deliver a speech about the use of opportunities within the Eastern Partnership and about inter-parliamentary cooperation, Info-Prim Neo reports. The Community of Democracies’ Parliamentary Forum was founded on March 12, 2010, and has 18 members, including Lithuania, the USA, and countries from Europe, Latin America and Asia. The organization’s goal is to consolidate democratic ideas and to protect human rights and freedoms. During his visit in Brussels, Marian Lupu will meet with Jerzy Buzek, President of the European Parliament, Stefan Fule, Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighborhood Policy, Andre Flahaut, President of the Belgian Chamber of Representatives, Willy Demeyer, First Vice-President of the Senate of Belgium, and other European officials. The discussions will address issues like Moldova’s European integration, the social-political situation within the country, the settlement of the Transnistrian conflict and others.
