Marian Lupu: We will see what happens to PLDM

The future Government will be formed with the participation of the PDM, PL and the 14 MPs who left the PCRM. The PLDM’s participation is yet uncertain, the chairman of the PDM Marian Lupu said in the talk show “Fabrika” on Publika TV channel, IPN reports.

“We do not have problems with our colleagues from the PL, but there are new elements and we will discuss them with those 14 MPs. We will see what happens to the PLDM. They followed particular scenarios. I don’t know how things develop, but we will discuss. As to the seven colleagues from the PLDM who support us, they still form part of their parliamentary group and we will not become involved. These colleagues assumed responsibility and this is a serious step. Now we will see what happens. We know that a part of the PLDM wants early elections. If they say tomorrow that they want to take part in governance, how can we believe them that they will not stab us from behind? I think the negotiations will be closed by the end of next week and we will vote in the Cabinet,” stated Lupu.

The leader of the PDM noted that owing to the lack of time, the Government’s structure won’t be modified. “The structure of the Cabinet, as regards the number of ministries and their responsibilities, remains unchanged. We do not have now time to make changes to the current structure of the Government. There is a more serious approach that will be put into practice in 5-6 months,” he added.

Marian Lupu voiced hope that the new Government will be a long-lasting one. “Some of the political players were changed. The past taught us particular lessons. We understand very well that the parties’ destiny depends on the implementation of programs for people. We face ideological difficulties, but the European integration idea unites us,” he stated.
