Vladimir Voronin took a correct decision when he removed particular activists from the administration of the Communist Party (PCRM), considers the chairman of the Democratic Party (PDM) Marian Lupu. In the program “Moldova live” on the public TV channel Moldova 1, the Democratic leader said that Voronin didn’t want the party he leads to be involved in radical and violent acts, by the model of the organization “Antifa” founded by the Communist MP Grigore Petrenco.
”It is important that Voronin understood on time what the real national interest is, which is above everything,” Marian Lupu said, quoted by IPN. He noted that though Voronin’s decision is good from the angle of the national interest, it is not yet favorable for the PDM. “The consolidation of the PCRM is to the detriment of our party because they may attract a part of our voters,” stated Marian Lupu.
He excluded any involvement of his party colleague, ex-MP Vlad Plahotniuc in the worsening of the situation inside the PCRM. “It is a myth created by Communists, who blame Plahotniuc for all the evil things. They used this legend once earlier,” he said.
Asked if an alliance between the PDM and PCRM after the elections is possible, Marian Lupu said the Democrats will form an alliance with any party whose doctrine is close to the PDM’s and will not run counter to the national interest of Moldova. “I think that Moldova must be ruled by a center-left government, based on the European model,” he stated.
