Vladimir Plahotniuc will yet try to become Prime Minister, but will not run for the presidency, the chairman of the Democratic Party (PDM) Marian Lupu said in the program “Fourth power” on N4 TV channel, IPN reports.
According to Lupu, Plahotniuc could yet try to obtain the post of Premier, but the Filip Government will not be specially dismissed for the purpose. “This is a man with an incredible work power. He is an exceptional manager who works 28 hours of 24. If need be, he would convene the Cabinet three-four times a day. I would sleep calmly if this man became Prime Minister,” said the Democrats’ leader.
He denied the assertions that Plahotniuc manages Moldova from behind. “This is a myth created by the same persons who diabolized the image of Plahotniuc during many years. If Plahotniuc headed the Cabinet, these myths would be dispelled in four months,” stated Marian Lupu.
He also denied the accusations that the March 4 decision by the Constitutional Court, concerning the method of electing the head of state, was dictated by the PDM. “For the PDM, it would have been more favorable for the head of state to be chosen in Parliament. We would have negotiated and would have found the necessary number of votes,” he explained.
