The chairman of the Democratic Party (PDM) Marian Lupu is pessimistic about the signing of an agreement to form local alliance because some of the components of the ruling alliance block this process, Info-Prim Neo reports. “I do not want to say who blocks things. Everything will become evident in several days,” Marian Lupu told the press. He said he does not see the alliance colleague’s wish to form local alliances. “When no plausible arguments are found, it is clear that there is absence of will,” said Marian Lupu. He also said that the local administrations do not have much time left to elect the district heads. If the term is not respected, rerun elections in districts will be inevitable. “Such a situation is dangerous as everything can happen,” stated Marian Lupu. The leader of the Liberal-Democratic parliamentary group Valeriu Strelet said it is the Liberals who block progress. “The Liberal Party’s flexibility becomes proverbial in districts. I hope the representatives of this party will be honest when they form coalitions,” he stressed. On the other hand, representatives of the Liberal Party said they made concessions when needed and expect their colleagues to do the same. The party’s head Mihai Ghimpu said the PL will vote for 20-21 district heads of the PLDM and PDM.
