Marian Lupu says he has immunity to pressure exerted by one AEI colleague

Moldova’s Acting President Marian Lupu said he was immune to the different forms of pressure exerted on him, referring to the recent statements made by the PLDM leader Vlad Filat, Info-Prim Neo reports. “The formula is very simple. Different forms of pressure are exerted on me, but I have immunity to them. I know one thing – as we formed a coalition, the dialogue must be held between the components of the alliance. We can discuss anything. If there are proposals, they should be submitted within the alliance,” Marian Lupu told the journalists during an event. He also said that from now on the discussions will not be held through the agency of the press, but within the Council of the Alliance for European Integration. “We will no more take part in the so-called debates through the mass media. There is a Council of the AEI and the alliance. It was formed as a mechanism for dialogue. All the discussions will be conducted within the Council,” said Marian Lupu. Earlier, Vlad Filat said that anyone can run for the presidency if they meet the conditions imposed by the law and they should not permanently make reference to the agreement concerning the formation of the AEI. The statements were made after the Governor of Gagauzia Mihai Formuzal urged the Premier to run for the post of head of state. In a news conference earlier, the leader of the Liberal Party Mihai Ghimpu said the President of Moldova would be elected in accordance with the alliance constitution agreement. He stressed that another candidate than Marian Lupu will be suggested only if the components of the AEI reach a relevant agreement.
