The Democratic Party (PDM), immediately after having its initiative group registered, delegated representatives to travel through the country and collect signatures in favor of the candidate for President Marian Lupu. The leader of the PDM went himself to Molesti village of Ialoveni district, IPN reports.

In a press release, the party says that in Molesti, the Democratic was met by several hundred locals. The people, invited by the local team, came to the PDM’s tent, signed in favor of Marian Lupu and transmitted to him messages of support for his candidacy for the presidency.

“The signatures we collect are more than a test for us or a procedural stage. They transmit to us the first message of confidence on the part of the people and show our potential to carry out difficult tasks. The current government showed that it has such potential, in the last few months during, which it brought stability after a long period of crises. For me, the people’s confidence is a guarantee that Moldova will swiftly reach the European living standards, which the people deserve and expect for so many years,” said the candidate of the PDM.

To run in the elections, a candidate must collect at least 15,000 signatures in his support by September 29.
