Marian Lupu may be elected Head of Parliament today, political analyst
It is possible that Marian Lupu will be elected Speaker in the first sitting of the new legislative body, political analyst Sergiu Nazaria has told Info-Prim Neo. According to him, the best option for the future government is a wide coalition that would include the PRCM and the PLDM, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The analyst believes the leader of the PDM might use the recent contradictions that appeared in the negotiations with his former alliance colleagues as justification for a possible center-left coalition.”Nobody criticizes Lupu because the vector of the future coalition depends on the Democratic Party's decision. The best four-year coalition for Moldova is a wide coalition obligatorily composed of the Communists and the Liberal-Democrats,” said the expert.
Sergiu Nazaria considers such a coalition would ensure stability for four years and if the results of such a government are positive, both of the parties will only benefit.
In the new legislature's first sitting on December 28, the MPs are to constitute the parliamentary groups. The same day, the Filat Government will announce its resignation, while Mihai Ghimpu will lose the posts of Head of Parliament and Acting President.
