The Moldovan people on November 30 chose to continue the European course and confirmed the support provided for the initiated reforms and this signal must be understood and respected by those who will get the seat of MP, despite the specific messages disseminated in the election campaign, the leader of the Democratic Party of Moldova (PDM) Marian Lupu said in a press briefing. He noted it is very important that the politicians remain united in implementing the pro-European project, IPN reports.
Marian Lupu stated that the PDM is the only party of the previous ruling parties that in these elections got a result that is by about 25% higher than that achieved in the 2010 parliamentary elections. “It is evident that we still have the surprise of the Party of Socialists, but this is something different. Their result can be considered a miracle in fact. But we know that miracles do not exist and I do not believe in miracles. Surely there are explanations for such a miraculous situation, but this phenomenon will be discussed more by experts and particular aspects will be probably discovered in time,” he said.
The Democratic leader also said that the parallel vote count done by the PDM, after totaling the data from 99.45% of records, shows that the PSRM polled 20.56% of the vote, the PLDM –19.6%, the PCRM –17.56%, while the PDM –15.9%. Asked which of the parties the PDM prefers to form a coalition with, Marian Lupu said they will wait for the final results to be announced and will then open political negotiations on the creation of a pro-European parlaiemntary majority.
According to the Central Election Commission, with 89% of the records of the electoral bureaus being processed, the PSRM polled 21.34% of the vote, the PLDM – 19.46%, the PCRM – 17.95%, the PDM – 15.78%, while the PL – 9.36%. Therefore, the PSRM would get 25 seats of MP, the PLDM – 24, the PCRM – 21, the PDM – 19, while the PL – 12.
